Free Everquest 2 Guide: Soloing Locations Levels 40-50

Zone ? Everfrost / Lavastorm

Although it may seem strange that after recommending places for sets of 5 levelfs I group 40 to 50 together, this is because you will not be budging from these zones again. You will be spending most of your time in Everfrost due to a greater selection of solo mobs however.

Starting with LS, there is a large selection of solo mobs just off the docks, however watch out for the heroic guard in the tunnel, and the heroic flame thingies hovering above the lava. They probably wonft be able to kill you, but itfs best to avoid them and save the time you would of spent running away to just kill a few more of the solo goblins around. This area of Lavastorm does have one major problem though, and that is that quite a few of these solo mobs here are required for writs thus you will find a lot of level 50 players killing everything in sight. If you can manage it and are extremely daring, get into the second area. It will be extremely difficult to manage as a level 40, and I donft really recommend it because once you actually make it there you will have to dodge wandering group mobs while you are killing the solo mobs for exp.

Everfrost is much the preferred zone to hunt in, as there is solo mobs almost everywhere. Starting at the docks, there is a ton of solo sharks in the water which are required for writs, but dont hunt these else you may run into the epic shark Dreadwake. Move over to the west onto land and you will come across an assortment of mobs including wolves and barbarians. This is the starting exp area for you, but again these mobs are required for writs but thankfully in this case there is enough mobs present that you can quite happily keep up a solid killing rate with not much downtime.

Next you will want to cross over the water again and head into the Icy Cavern where there is a large amount of solo Skeletonfs around which are fairly good exp assuming you do well dodging the wandering heroic golemfs around. A named skeleton also pops around here rarely that has a decent chance of dropping a master chest.

Finally, from around level 45 you will want to hunt in one of two places. The first is surrounding the Tundra Terrors, where there is a large assortment of solo mobs and recently other mobs as well for you to kill, and this is where I solofd while I was LFG during my exp days. You can also make regular runs up the tunnel here to kill the solo giants. The other place, which is a lot riskier, is out on the ice floes where the Icegill Goblins reside. Not many people come here so you will be able to exp without much competition, but therefs a lot of aggro sharks in the water to avoid.
