This is great to use to look around corners if you do not wan't your pet to constantly be in sight of the enemy (otherwise you could use eyes of the beast).
- cast eyes of the beast and run your pet to wherever you want to cast eye of the hawk (not sure if this is the apropriate name)
- quickly click eye of the hawk, move you mouse into the spot you want to place it, and then click.
If you do the above fast enough you will be able to view the selected area for the duration of the spell while your pet comes by to protect you.
