The Demonology tree is lacking in some areas, and Blizzard has commented that they are planning to improve it. But it isn’t quite as horrid as some people make it out to be.

If you PvP much, or are on a PvP server, having the Fel Domination and Master Summoner is a nice bonus. Getting ambushed by a class your current pet isnt the most effective against? Summon a new pet almost instantly, at 50% reduced manacost. For PvP, you could consider going no further in the demonology tree then Master Summoner, and putting the bulk of your points in affliction of destruction. But if you want the best of the demonology tree, which is Soul Link, then youll have to go all the way and put 31 points in this tree. The ability to direct 50% of all damage you take to your pet through use of Soul Link makes you much more resilient in battle. The increased stats for your pets are also decent, but all in all this tree leaves alot to be desired. The talents that improve your pets stats are not effective on enslaved demons.
