Destruction is excellent to deal more damage faster. You are also out of mana faster, but that’s the tradeoff. If you plan to use Searing Pain as main nuke, you should scrap some talents in favor of the Improved Searing Pain talent. A 10% higher chance to crit coupled with Ruin is worth it if you use the spell alot. Keep in mind that Searing Pain is a high aggro spell, and will get you aggro in a group. It is excellent for PvP though, as it has a much shorter cast time, which makes it more likely for you to get the spell off between stuns, kicks and whatever else interrupts spell casts. Immolate, when coupled with improved immolate and conflagrate also makes a good fast casting nuke. (do keep in mind that conflagrate has a 10 second cooldown). The reason I put the 18 points in Affliction here, and not in Destruction, is because Fel Concentration (and really Nightfall too) is simply a must-have. That and Improved Corruption and Suppression are extremely valuable. You could choose to shift some points around to get demonic embrace though, because that is really also a musthave. (Sadly you just cant get all the talents you want)
You may not be able to put maintain your damage output as long as with an affliction build, but when you put out your damage, they’ll be sure to feel it.
